Personal Philosophy
If you’re a healthcare provider, the person sitting before you wants three simple things.
#1 They want you to listen.
#2 They want you to tell them what the hell is wrong with them.
#3 They want to sift through the B.S. and see if you can help them with their problem.
Too often, we forget this simple formula. Hopefully, my years of critical thinking and relevant experience will give you some hope. Being in pain or having an injury is often one of the most significant hardships humans experience. I recognize this and sympathize with those dealing with chronic pain.
I want to make sure I lay out my position very clearly. This may require a more extensive post, but it needs to be said here. Saying you will Return 2 *undefined physical activity* does not mean we can guarantee feeling or achieving the EXACT level you once were.
Return 2 was built based on positive psychology principles (cite Martin Seligman). Instead of reminiscing on what used to be, we focus on establishing a new normal. Use this recovery/rehab journey to become stronger and healthier physically and prove to yourself that you can do hard things.
Let’s successfully age together!
